Irimiya Sauni Werr was born on 9th July, 1969.

He started his primary education in 1976, proceeding to Secondary school in 1983 to 1988. He obtained a diploma in accounting in 1993, Advanced diploma in Public Administration in 1997 and degree in Public Administration in 2004.

Hon. Werr started his working career in 1989 with the Central Bank of Nigeria as a bank clerk, where he rose to rank of Supervisor before retiring in 2016. He was appointed a management committee member of the defunct Kunga Development area of Jos North Local Government by Governor Joshua Dariye of Plateau State in 2006.

In 2009, he gained employment with Halt AIDS Group Jos (an NGO working on prevention of HIV/AIDS malaria and tuberculosis) as Administrative officer. In 2016 he was appointed Special Adviser on NGOs and Inter Party Affairs to his Excellency Rt Hon. Dr. Simon Bako Lalong , Executive Governor of Plateau State, a position he held until 2019. He was also appointed the Commissioner for Special Duties Intergovernmental affairs and NGOs by the same Governor Lalong in 2019 a position he held until 2022 October when he was appointed as Asst. Director Social and Humanitarian Directorate North Central of the Presidential Campaign Council for Tinubu/Shetima mandate.

Hon. Werr has attended over 20 Bank and management courses. .

He is a Member of the Nigerian institute of management, a Patron of the Boys Brigade Nigeria, a Mayor of peace with the UN POLAC among others. He is also a Men Engagement Facilitator with the Women for Women International.

Hon. Werr joined PPFN in 2005 as a volunteer, served as Chairman of Plateau State Association for more than two terms. He is currently a NEC member of PPFN, representing North Central.

He is married to Mercy Werr and the union is blessed with 4 children
